Depending on your sector, business might be slow, it’s the holiday season but it can also be an awesome month to regroup when everything seems to be on go slow. Here are 5 things you can do in August:
1. Draw up or review growth plans
If you did it in January and you followed the plan, that’s great. If you did not, don’t despair. Don’t succumb to the silly season, use this time to get serious about sorting things out even if you can only make a start.
2. Carry out research to fuel your plans
Data and evidence give credibility to plans. It can be tedious to go through and collate but this effort is worthwhile. It’s the difference between an idea and a serious business proposition or project.
3. Tackle the neglected pending pile
It’s easy to ignore the pending pile. It represents avoided tasks and boredom. Tasks that are not an immediate priority get dumped on the pending pile. Decluttering this list gives breathing space for all the major work needed to get on track.
4. Develop a pilot project to test new ideas
A pilot project is a good way to test an idea or project. It may need some thinking around logistics and timeframes, but if you have a sense of a new project don’t be afraid to test the idea.
5. Commit to leisure and relaxation for balance
Rest, restore and rejuvenate. August is a fantastic month to put the 3 Rs into practice
