Mind the Gap!

Many organisations have blind spots that can create a discrepancy between the reality of how they are perceived and what they claim to be.
Whilst some business owners and leadership teams see discussions of culture, values and ethos as fundamental to how their business works. For others these concepts are seen as at best the abstract stuff you put in a business plan or worse whimsical woo woo nonsense.
Yet research shows companies with an inspiring vision statement and/or motivating set of values attract talent, loyal customers and reputational benefits. These benefits are amplified when they are seen as consistent and evidenced in how employees and customers are treated. Companies that don’t follow through can lose traction and create friction with their teams or clients.
It’s easy to ignore small actions which can cause friction, for example, a company that says it values its customers, but internally shows disregard for its employees. Equally a business that states it is committed to excellence but doesn’t follow its business plan or evaluate its services or operations.
Blind spots can become growth barriers. Eventually the gap between the reality of the business and what the business says about itself can destroy confidence, batter a company’s reputation, and impact the bottom line.
The downward spiral can be avoided with tools that can provide insights and solutions.
These include:
· Organisational reviews
· Staff engagement sessions
· Facilitated Away days
