The Security of Certainties

In equity and trusts there is a concept of the 3 certainties. This is a device to establish certainty to determine the existence of a Trust .


In personal development, a similar device can be used to establish a long-term commitment to growth. Using this analogy, there are 4 certainties that demonstrate a growth mindset!


1. Taking Risks


This can involve taking bold actions or a having a major mindset shift. Practically, this could be launching a business with all your funds, or starting a new venture with no funds, stepping outside of your comfort zone like leaving stability for uncertainty.


2. Reflective Practices


Actions and reflective time need to go hand in hand. If you’re trying to develop a business or make a big move, it’s easy to get so caught up in activity that you fail to do any reflecting. Preconceived ideas may be challenged and gaining insights through reflecting helps to establish resilience.


3. Experiencing Challenges


All the notable business leaders, inspirational creatives and entrepreneurs have experienced all manner of unfavourable conditions. When they share their accounts you learn of their challenges with inadequate resources, lack of time, ridicule, funding delays, lack of confidence from key stakeholders and a host of other critical setbacks. An awareness that challenges are part of the journey. is essential.


4. Confidence in Vision Realisation


A vital element of perseverance is an inner belief that there will be a positive outcome. If you start with a compelling vision of the change you want to see it will compel perseverance and focus. This confidence is central to self-belief and the tenacity and perseverance until vision realisation.
