Quiet Quitting! A good workplace trend?

Quiet quitting - a new workplace trend?

There has been much written recently about employees becoming disengaged from work,  and only doing the ‘basics’ or the bare minimum required.
There are different views on the topic:
Some believe that employees who have clear boundaries have better work life balance, and it helps to prevent burnout.
To others it’s a sign of poor motivation in a workplace that doesn’t provide enough opportunities for progression, innovation, or personal development.
Another school of thought sees it as a worrying trend from less than conscientious workers unwilling or unable to give what it takes to succeed.

Is quietly quitting just another term born out of the pandemic, or is it something more?
It's an issue business leaders and employers need to think about if they are serious about growth and productivity.

A shift in the workplace culture perhaps, or a subtle warning for employers to take notice and make changes?  In business you can't get away with disregarding trends which can impact the performance and reputation of your business.
